President Greg Krueger set the tone for his team’s customer care dedication when he started at Jefferson Beach as a sales person in 1970, and worked his way to the top becoming #1 in sales within six months. Greg and his team continue to be a top boating resource more than four decades later, sustaining the reputation as the most trusted place to purchase or sell your boat.
Greg is a 3rd generation boating industry veteran and his experience spans a lifetime. He enjoyed his very first boat at the ripe age of five and was operating his own outboard by age six. Greg has spent his life exploring and enjoying every inch of the Great Lakes which he continues to do today. In addition to sales, Greg has also worked in boat building. He started building center console vessels in 1982 and formed American International, which later sold to Genmar Industries. Greg has served on the Board of Directors for the Michigan Boating Industry Association for over 25 years, and pioneered the establishment of the Recreational Boating Industry Education Foundation in the mid 1980’s with the goal of building a better future for the industry. The Foundation continues to exist, offering educational opportunities to young men and women pursuing careers in boating.

Jim Kehrig, Jr., Sales Representative (St. Clair Shores, MI Office)
After graduating from Oakland University, Jim began his career in the marine industry in 1988. After spending some time as a Service Manager, Jim turned his focus to sales. Since then he has proudly built close relationships with his clients by providing an uncompromising dedication to servicing their needs. Jim was raised in a family of experienced boaters and enjoys boating with his wife and three children.
Ron Montoya, Sales Representative (St. Clair Shores, MI Office)
Ron started selling boats in 1978 because he loved selling “fun.” Racing boats, skiing behind boats at over 100 mph or running yachts thousands of miles around the globe, Ron can’t think of anything better to do in life than to share his enthusiasm to get people into the boating lifestyle. Ron’s motto is: “Whether you’re seeking the ultimate rush or a bit of peace and tranquility, the boating lifestyle can take you there.“
Jim Stefano, Sales Representative (Ohio Office)
Jim started boating at a very young age with his family on Lake Erie. Jim attended the Chapman School of Seamanship and at the age of 18 he received his 100 Ton USCG Captain’s License. He has worked as a fishing guide as well as a private captain in both the North and South waters. Jim started selling boats in 1999 and enjoys working hard for his clients both before and after the sale.
Ron Silvia, Sales Representative (Chicago Office)
Ron has spent most of his life on the water. He was born and raised on Cape Cod, and received his 100 Ton USCG Captain’s License at 18. While working through his undergraduate education at Bentley College, Ron served as a charter captain, full-time summer captain and a delivery captain. He continues to serve these longtime clients. Ron went on to earn his MBA from Loyola University Chicago and currently oversees the JBYS Chicago location. Ron’s attention to detail, thoroughness and respect for every yacht he boards is honest. His ability to relate to and understand the needs of his clients has earned him many loyal customers.
Judy Krueger, Sales Associate (Charlevoix, MI Office)
Judy’s love for boating started as a young girl when her grandfather would take her on deep sea fishing adventures in Plymouth, Massachusetts. She spent about seven years in her early 20’s crewing on private yachts cruising from Boston to South Florida. Judy earned her 100 Ton USCG Captain’s License in 1986. In 1993 Judy started a career in sales, and in 2003 she became the first sales representative for a new Sunseeker dealership in Newport Beach, California. Judy moved to Michigan in 2006 to explore the Great Lakes. Judy is ready to help you find the perfect vessel to cruise wherever your dreams will take you.
Tony Leitgeb, Sales Associate (Grand Haven, MI Office)
Tony grew up boating with his family on Lake Michigan. At an early age he crewed for his father’s charter fishing boat, and earned his 100 Ton USCG Captain’s License in 1985. Thereafter, he began AML Yacht Service, acting as a private captain and personal representative. His extensive travels have taken him up and down the East Coast, through the New York Canal systems and inner River System and all over the Great Lakes. Tony’s knowledge of boats is very extensive. He is enthusiastic about sharing his industry knowledge and enjoys helping each person find the right boat for their needs and desires.
David Ottenhoff, Partner & Vice President of Service
Dave grew up on the Great Lakes and has been a boater all his life. He has worked in the marine industry since 1980 and has gained experience from several boat manufacturers along the east and west coasts of the USA. Dave has spent the last 20 years working in marine service. He holds a degree in business management and is committed to the boating industry, specifically the service needs of JBYS customers.
Cathy McGuire, Service Administrator
Cathy comes to JBYS with over a decade of experience working in the boating industry. She holds a Bachelor’s of Science Degree from Aquinas College and worked as a school teacher for many years. After becoming active in the sailboat racing scene, Cathy changed careers from teaching to boating and hasn’t ever looked back! Cathy’s own sailboat is right here at Jefferson Beach Marina, JBYS headquarters in St. Clair Shores, MI. Being a part of the JBYS team is a perfect match for her experience and love for boating.
David Lesh, Service Project Manager
David is a life-long boater and started his marine career in his family’s fishing charter business. He has been working in the technical marine service industry since 1982 and has many certifications including MAN Diesel service. Dave is a well-known expert in diesel mechanics throughout the service industry. He travels extensively for new boat deliveries and warranty repairs. He also oversees and coordinates diesel repairs and service scheduling. Dave loves being on the water with his family, enjoying the lifestyle that boating offers.
Andrew Doescher, Service Technician
Andrew has lived on the water all of his life and enjoys everything water recreation has to offer. After high school, he joined the United States Air Force spending four years in active duty, mostly in Okinawa, Japan. Andrew is also a graduate of the Marine Mechanics Institute in Orlando, FL. He is currently working on a business degree and his 100 Ton Captain’s License. Andrew loves hands-on activities, working with people and being active.
Raymond (Rez) Graeff, Service Technician (Chicago Office)
Raised in Chicago close to Lake Michigan, Rez’s love of boats as a child grew into a career of yachting. Always fascinated with the technical side of boating, he studied shipboard engineering at Sea School in Florida. He also studied aerospace science at Randolph Macon Academy in Virginia. Rez has worked on and lived aboard yachts around the world in places like the south of France, Cuba, Florida and Hawaii. He has a keen sense of detail when working on boats and takes his technical skills to the limit. Rez enjoys scuba diving, paddle boarding and wind surfing and loves to visit family in Germany and Switzerland.
Carol (Voss) Petersmarck, Business Manager
Carol loves boating and has been working in the industry for over 30 years. She is an expert in creative financing and has a certificate from Resource Training with expertise in credit insurance and mechanical service agreements. Carol handles buyer financing/refinancing and insurance, and takes care of closings, legal transfers and buyer registration requirements. Carol works diligently to find the right program to suit each customer.
Stephanie Gallinagh, Vice President of Finance and Human Resources
Stephanie has been in the marine industry since 1992 and has spent her life enjoying boating and water recreation. She graduated from Oakland University with an Accounting degree and joined the JBYS team in 1997. Stephanie’s dedication has earned JBYS the reputation of being ’squeaky clean’ when it comes to finances and audits.
Amy Malow, Vice President of Administrative Affairs, Marketing and Technology
Amy has spent her entire life enjoying the boating lifestyle and grew up involved in the boating business. She holds Bachelor’s and Masters Degrees in Human Nutrition and is a Registered Dietitian. After working in clinical settings and in public health administration and marketing for 10 years, Amy decided to join the JBYS team in 2005. Amy continues her public health work along side her JBYS responsibilities and finds that the diverse experiences lend many assets to each venue.
Martha Clark, Marketing and Administrative Assistant
Martha has lived on both sides of the Great Lakes and enjoys living and working near Lake St Clair. She brings years of experience as a customer service specialist, loves marketing, social media and everything administrative. As a self-professed non-athlete, her proudest achievements are her 5 completed marathons and numerous triathlons. Although new to the boating industry, she’s no stranger to the water and currently can be found on her sailboat “Joint Venture” when she’s not working at JBYS.
Caroline Winter, Chicago Office Assistant
Caroline grew up on the shores of Lake Michigan and boating is her number one passion! In fact, almost all members of her family are boat owners or work in the boat business. She graduated from DePauw University with a Bachelor’s in Communication and a minor in History. After graduation, she worked in Spain for a year and travelled across America before returning to Chicago. Caroline joined the JBYS team as the Chicago Office Assistant in early 2012. She is the friendly face always ready and willing to help out slip tenants, and is key to helping manage our Chicago location.
